Movie Review: Spider-Man 2

Catherine and I went last night to relax and watch an entertaining movie, nothing serious - a popcorn flick. We chose Spider-Man 2 and I must say - It surpassed my expectations.



Without giving a summary - you can find a summary all over the place online - I will tell you that I thought this one surpassed the first in ever way. Visually, acting, story, and the bad guy.

"Doc Oc" , played by Alfred Molina (who was excellent in Frida) plays the scientist gone wrong, but you are very sympathetic to him. You never really feel his "bad" which I think adds true drama and complexity to a story that could have gotten by with glitzy special effects and big name stars (aka see crappy Batman franchise). Instead they ask the average movie goer to wake up and pay attention. The characters are complex and troubled. Truly makes them human.

I do recommend you see it on the big screen, certain scenes just translate to their deserved greatness in the theater.
